Hemp Maze
In the coming years you will wake up in a house whose walls, roof, flooring, insulation and paint are derived from hemp. You feel great after sleeping on your hemp stuffed mattress and soft sheets and pillowcases spun from hemp fibre.
10-11th September 2011
Your feet sink into a hemp rug as you open your hemp curtains. Having showered with hemp soap, shampoo and hair conditioner you step onto a hemp bath mat drying yourself with a super absorbent hemp towel.
After cleaning your ears with hemp buds you apply hemp lotion, moisturizer and lip balm. You dress in hemp jeans, shirt, jacket, socks and tie your hemp laces on your hemp shoes. Walking on hemp based linoleum floor into the kitchen (units built of hemp fibre board) you eat hemp-flour bread and salad with hemp oil dressing and pour a glass of hemp energy milk!
After sitting down on your hemp framed and upholstered couch you read your newspaper printed with hemp ink on hemp content paper, and learn that the hemp industry is now a substantial agricultural and industry job provider in Yorkshire. Leaving your hemp house for work, you open the door of your motor car built of strong, lightweight hemp composite upholstered in hemp textiles, your feet resting on hemp floor mats.
As you drive your carbon neutral car running on hemp ethanol to your job in the hemp industry you pass the many farms providing the raw material hemp for the Hemp Technology Centre that is revitalizing not just the Driffield community but the whole regional rural and industrial economy. What a wonderful future there is for everyone in a hemp world!
A truly amazing site! Five hectars of beautiful industrial hemp standing 12ft to 16ft tall designed by the world's definitive maze designers creating a "Flagship" maze for our hemp growing region. With award winning educational points throughout the maze telling of the 12,000 year old history of man's use of hemp with information of how hemp can be used in over 25,000 environmentally friendly products. These products can be bought in the revitalized shops of Driffield and tasted at the Hemp Technology Centre.
After the successful harvesting of the hemp it will be time for everyone to come together to celebrate during the Yorkshire Hemp Harvest Festival ( 10-11th Sept 2011) a healthy and environmentally future!
